RACINE, Wis. (WRJN) – The rich sporting heritage of Racine County is getting its annual spotlight.
The 13th Annual Racine County Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is set for October 24, 2024, at Roma Lodge in Mount Pleasant. The event, celebrating local athletic achievements, will honor five new inductees and a special award recipient.
This year’s inductees include NBA veterans Caron Butler and Mike Ratliff, tennis player Jason Caspers, bowler Butch Luther, and track athlete Katie Slamka Leiber. Wally Booker will receive the Deep Roots Award for his contributions as a basketball coach and mentor.
The ceremony will also recognize the 2004 Prairie School Boys Soccer Team. Ashley Washburn, sports reporter for WTMJ-4, will serve as Master of Ceremonies.
The event, running from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM, includes dinner, drinks, and a celebration of Racine County’s sports legacy.
Tickets are available for purchase until October 10th, with no sales at the door.
Proceeds from the event will support the Racine Heritage Museum’s mission to preserve and share the stories of Racine County residents.
